How image conversion works
Image conversion re-encodes a picture using a different file format. JPG is ideal for many photographs, PNG supports transparency and lossless graphics, and WebP often produces efficient web-ready files.
JPG cannot preserve transparency. When converting a transparent PNG or WebP file to JPG, the background color selected above is placed behind the image.
JPG and WebP support adjustable quality. Lower settings can reduce file size, while higher settings preserve more visual detail.
