How the Password Generator works
Choose your preferred password length and character types, then select Generate Password. A new random password is created directly in your browser.
When several character types are enabled, the generator includes at least one character from each selected type. The remaining characters are selected from the complete available character pool.
The strength estimate is based on the password length and the number of possible characters. Longer passwords with a wider character variety generally have greater estimated entropy.
Tips for stronger passwords
Use a longer password
Length is one of the most important factors. Use at least 16 characters when the website allows it.
Use a unique password
Avoid reusing the same password across multiple accounts. A breach on one website could otherwise affect your other accounts.
Store passwords safely
A reputable password manager can store unique passwords so you do not need to remember each one.
Enable two-factor authentication
Two-factor authentication adds another layer of protection if your password is ever exposed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the passwords generated randomly?+
Yes. The generator uses the browser's cryptographic random number generator to select and shuffle password characters.
Does Xepoca save my password?+
No. Password generation happens directly in your browser, and the generated password is not submitted or saved by this page.
How long should my password be?+
A password of at least 16 characters is a strong starting point. Longer passwords are generally more resistant to guessing attacks.
What are similar characters?+
Similar characters are characters that can be difficult to tell apart, such as uppercase O, zero, uppercase I, lowercase l and the number one.
What does password entropy mean?+
Entropy is an estimate of how difficult a random password is to guess. It is affected by password length and the number of possible characters.
Is the Password Generator free?+
Yes. Xepoca's Password Generator is free to use and does not require registration.
